This method can be on the expensive side and labor-intensive, however, it holds up pretty well. The seaming tape is sealed on one side and goes face down. This way the non-sealed side is face up and the glue is applied to the non-sealed side.
Seaming tape and glue is what’s commonly used for putting greens since it’s short and dense. Using nails or staples on the seams may be visible with this type of grass. Since putting green turf is short and dense, using tape and glue is the most effective way to achieve a perfect seam when trying to bring two rolls of grass together.
You can get seaming glue in several sizes. If you’re using 12′ wide seaming tape, the 5-gallon bucket is good for 250 linear feet of seaming, the 1-gallon bucket is good for 50 feet, and the 29 oz tube is good for 13 feet.
If you decide the tape and glue method is best for you when installing artificial turf at your home you can still utilize sod staples. The sod staples help hold the seam in place while the glue is curing. This will allow you to continue with your installation without risking the movement of your seam.
